Dr. Ralf Holzer

Ralf J. Holzer, MD, MSc, is Assistant Director of Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Therapy at The Heart Center at Nationwide Children's Hospital. He is Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Holzer received his medical degree from Johannes Gutenberg Universitat Mainz in Germany. After completing his residency, he received fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiology at Royal Liverpool Children’s NHS Trust in England and spent a year as an interventional fellow working at University of Chicago Children’s Hospital. He has worked subsequently as faculty at the Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital, before changing to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH in 2005. Dr Holzer has a very large research portfolio and has published on numerous aspects of transcatheter therapy in patients with congenital heart disease. He has worked extensively on many national Quality improvement projects, and is a member of the IMPACT registry steering committee. Dr Holzer also holds a Masters degree in information technology.
