Evan Michael Zahn, MD, is Director of the Guerin Family Congenital Heart Program in the Smidt Heart Institute and Department of Pediatrics at Cedars-Sinai Medical center. He is board certified in pediatric cardiology.

Dr. Zahn joined Cedars-Sinai from Miami Children's Hospital, where he served as Chief of Cardiology and Head of Interventional Catheterization Services for the Congenital Heart Institute. In 2002, he helped found the Congenital Heart Program at Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital in Orlando, where he served as Co-director until 2011.

Dr. Zahn's research focus has been the development and implementation of several important interventional procedures, including several hybrid approaches for the treatment of complex congenital problems, stent implantation in infants and neonates, transcatheter PDA closure in premature neonates and complex interventions performed in the early post-operative period. Dr. Zahn participated in the design, testing and development of several devices and FDA clinical trials, resulting in the approval of the Helex septal occluder and the Melody trans-catheter pulmonary valve. Currently Dr Zahn is the national Principal Investigator (P.I.) for the ADO II-AS Trial examining the safety and efficacy of transcatheter PDA closure in premature neonates as well as the Alterra COMPASSION S3 trial examining a new solution for transcatheter pulmonary valve placement in patients with large right ventricular outflow tracts.
